With the win, Anderson will face off against the victor of Nadal-Djokovic match in the final at Wimbledon, with the hopes of winning the first major title of his career.

Anderson overcame a one-set deficit and outlasted Isner over the course six hours and 36 minutes, capturing the bout 7-6 (7), 6-7 (6), 6-7 (9), 6-4, 26-24.

The show being put on by Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal was so good it could have been an instant classic had they been able to finish their semifinal before the tournament's 11 p.m. curfew.

Kevin Anderson will advance to the Wimbledon final on Sunday after beating John Isner in a grueling match that went on for more than six and a half hours.

John Isner and Kevin Anderson possess two of the most powerful serves in tennis, and simply could not find a break in their Wimbledon semifinal.

Isner also took part in the longest match - period, no caveats - in tennis history, which, astoundingly, almost doubled the duration of Friday's contest.

"I feel pretty bad".

The right-handed Anderson slipped and fell, but scrambled back to his feet in time to hit a return left-handed and continue the point before Isner eventually pushed a forehand just wide.

In the 50th game, Isner took down the opening point before Anderson captured the next four - including two on aces.

With 29 Grand Slam titles between them, Nadal and Djokovic's meeting was a highly anticipated match between players who have met more than any other two men in the Open era.

It was a severe test of stamina for both players, as well as those watching, and meant a long wait for Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic who were due on next in the second semi-final.

But the 31-year-old has been rejuvenated at Wimbledon, sweeping into the semi-finals for the eighth time. If Nadal gets off to a fast start, Djokovic could find himself struggling to believe that he's ready to win this type of match.

"I don't really know what to say right now", said Anderson.

With nobody budging on serve, a tie-break was needed to separate the pair and after some lung-busting rallies of epic proportions it was Djokovic who survived two set points before taking his own opportunity for the overnight advantage in a gripping contest. On Wednesday, we saw Nadal's confidence, and even his intensity, briefly wane when Juan Martin del Potro forced his way into their quarterfinal late in the second set.

While one might think that such a closely fought match was an enthralling display of athleticism, as the game teetered back and forth in the fifth set, the opposite was true.

It was the same tit-for-tat in the fifth and sixth games of the fourth set before Anderson produced a moment of brilliance, a superb cross-court backhand, to break in the ninth and subsequently held serve to win 6-4. He's someone that I have so much respect for because he works very hard at what he does.
