Queen Elizabeth watched on today as nearly 100 aircraft flew over Buckingham Palace in a celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of Britain's Royal Air Force.

The centrepiece event of the Royal Air Force's 100th birthday takes place in London this morning, 100 days after the official birthday date of April 1.

Meghan Markle looked nothing short of sensational, as she switched her emerald dress earlier in the day for a gorgeous sleek black gown, alongside her husband Prince Harry.

Collier told MailOnline: "The bun is quickly becoming the Duchess's signature look, so it's no surprise to see her sporting this style at today's ceremony".

The couple met RAF servicemen and women, charity representatives involved in the RAF100 Appeal, RAF Veterans and Civil Service personnel involved in the Centenary celebrations.

Kate wore a pale mint Alexander McQueen design, while Meghan wore navy. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were notably absent from the prince's christening at St. James's Palace on Monday.

Although the royal couple's itinerary doesn't allow them the opportunity to visit famous attractions like Temple Bar and the Guinness Storehouse, they will still be introduced to Irish life at some other key sights that attract millions of tourists from around the world each year.

In their biggest ever formation, 22 Typhoon jets spelt out the number 100 in the sky - an added surprise for the royals, personnel and the throngs of public spectators who had packed out the streets to watch.

Meghan the Duchess of Sussex was all smiles through her second appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The Queen looked radiant in a royal blue silk coat with a turquoise collar over a dress in the same colour, both by Angela Kelly, with a matching hat and a diamond star.
