Scribe Steve Mallory and Lebron James' SpringHill Entertainment have sold an untitled comedy flick to Paramount Players with hopes of LeBron James as the star.

LeBron is set to produce the film with his SpringHill partner Maverick Carter. Jamal Henderson and Spencer Beighley will oversee the project for SpringHill. Paramount Players' Ali Bell and Gabby Canton are also involved with the project.

This would mark James' second big-screen role; he previously played himself in the Judd Apatow comedy "Trainwreck". It sounds like his role in the untitled new film would be bigger. On top of his National Basketball Association career, James has been busy producing upcoming projects such as New Line's House Party remake, reviving the comedy franchise that began in 1990 and starred the rap duo Kid 'N Play. That project allowed him to become a member of the Producers Guild.

He is also a producer on the New Line remake of "House Party" as well an exec producer on the Netflix limited series "On Her Own Ground", starring Octavia Spencer. Mallory, the writer, has written a number of comedies, including the Melissa McCarthy movies Tammy and The Boss.

He is represented by WME and Ziffren Brittenham.
