Jean Michael Seri is in London and has not joined up with his Nice teammates for pre-season, according to France Football (h/t Metro).

The Ivory Coast worldwide has attracted the attention of a number of big clubs in Europe, with Barcelona linked with a move last summer and the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham all mooted as potential destinations.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a host of big clubs in England over the past 18 months, including Spurs and Fulham, but it appears as if Arsenal and Chelsea are now in pole position for the midfielder.

According to France Football, Seri has not joined up with Nice for the start of pre-season but is now in London waiting for a potential transfer.

The midfielder dubbed the "African Xavi" had attracted interest from Barcelona during the last summer transfer window but the move was scuppered amid their decision to sign Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande instead. Antonio Conte remains in charge and is understood to be at the club for pre-season training but his exit from the club is clearly still being discussed with Maurizio Sarri waiting in the wings to take over.
