  • CB Adam 'Pacman' Jones attacked in weird fight at Atlanta airport

Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones fought off an Atlanta airport employee who was charged with battery after starting an altercation with the National Football League veteran, police said.

According to police, an ABM employee identified as Frank Ragin made a gesture toward Jones, who then confronted Ragin. Jones approached Ragin and a verbal altercation ensued.

Ragin allegedly punched Jones, injuring his face, and allegedly struck Jones' unidentified companion, injuring her hand, the AJC reported. Ragin the fell to the ground when Jones started to defend himself.

Cops arrested Ragin on 2 counts of battery - but could NOT immediately take him to the police station to be booked, because he needed to be treated for his injuries. A skirmish broke out when a security guard intervened.

Jones and a female companion of his declined medical treatment. The gunman said he followed Jones' orders.

While he wasn't adjudged to be the guilty party in this particular incident, Jones does have a checkered history when it comes to off the field issues over the course of his career. Most recently, he played for the Cincinnati Bengals. He missed the entire 2007 season for numerous violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy, including his involvement in a strip-club fight that left a man paralyzed.
