  • The first poster for Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has dropped with the trailer arriving later today

On Tuesday morning, 20th Century Fox debuted the teaser trailer for the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. We've already seen a few photos of him in character, and he certainly looked the part, but we hadn't seen his depiction of Mercury in action.

The flamboyant, barrier-breaking singer is a tough act to follow, but the trailer certainly packs a punch.

What did you guys think of the first trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody? We'll see. Tune in below. We don't really get a feel for what this movie is, exactly, but we do get the promise that there will be plenty of footage of the Queen bandmates performing.

British director Dexter Fletcher took over Bohemian Rhapsody after gay director Bryan Singer was sacked amid on set arguments and Singer's leaving the set to resolve a family health emergency. The film follows the band's meteoric rise, charts their near-implosion, and climaxes with their unforgettable performance at Live Aid.

The remaining members of Queen will be played by Gwilym Lee (Brian May), Joseph Mazzello (John Deacon) and Ben Hardy (Roger Taylor). To begin with, Sasha Baron Cohen was supposed to play Mercury, but he stepped down due to "creative differences".

If you'll recall, Singer was sacked from the film in December. Dexter Fletcher came on board to finish the film.

He dodged rumors about his failing health for years after reportedly being diagnosed with AIDS in the late '80s, and stayed out of the public eye leading up to his death at the age of 45. After a year in the role, Singer was sacked for behavioural reason, and Dexter Fletcher resumed the post.

The full first Bohemian Rhapsody trailer launches May 15th 6am PT exclusively here on Queen's Official channels and we have a special sneak peek of it here for those of you who can't wait.
