  • Acting in bad faith, United States withdraws from Iran nuclear deal

Britain, France and Germany were to press Iran later on Tuesday to stay in the nuclear accord which US President Donald Trump abandoned last week and which has left Europe with few ways of keeping the accord's benefits flowing to Tehran.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders on Tuesday.

In the CNN interview, Bolton did not respond directly when asked whether Trump might seek "regime change" in Iran, or whether the United States military would be ordered to make a preemptive strike against any Iranian nuclear facility.

European firms, on the other hand, are likely to abide by USA sanctions regardless of what steps their governments might take, Nephew says, "unless Europe brings the fight to the United States and takes real action to make sanctions enforcement costly" for Washington.

I think getting out of the deal says to Iran, those happy days are over, from the USA perspective.

Europeans are going to face the effect of US sanctions already really because much of what they'd like to sell to Iran involves US technology for which the licenses will not be available, ” US National Security Advisor John Bolton said. The same could be said about any other country the US decides to put sanctions on for not going along with America's decision to rip up the Iran Deal. Instead of geniality, what we've received from Iran is threats to wipe out Israel, the harassment of the USA military to the point of taking hostages and a bloody, terroristic presence in the Middle East meant to say Iran would soon be in murderous control.

Speaking last week, President Rouhani said: "If we achieve the deal's goals in co-operation with other members of the deal, it will remain in place". "Now, that will not happen!" Macron told Trump in their telephone call on Saturday that he was anxious about stability in the Middle East, according to Macron's office.

Iran has promised to maintain the deal, regardless of Trump's withdrawal, as long as it still has the support of France and the UK.

Revocation of the General License H, which authorized USA owned or controlled foreign entities to engage in certain activities involving Iran. Although most analysts believe the United States withdrawal has effectively scuppered the agreement, Iran's foreign minister talked up the prospects of its survival on Sunday while visiting China, another of the signatories.

Mohammad Javad Zarif and senior Chinese officials hailed the "strategic partnership" between their countries. On May 13, he visited China, and after the talks with Lavrov he will travel to Brussels where he will meet with EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini and top German, French and British diplomats.

Before leaving, Zarif published a government statement on his Twitter page, slamming Trump's "extremist administration" for abandoning "an accord recognised as a victory of diplomacy by the global community".

"[But] if the nuclear deal is to continue, the interests of the people of Iran must be assured".

"It's possible", he said.

In the administration's view, measures like crippling US-led sanctions against Pyongyang's critical industries brought North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to his knees - and the same policy should work with Teheran, as well.

President Trump has discussed with President Macron in France with Chancellor Merkel in Germany with Prime Minister May in England to move beyond the deal.
