This has been announced today, and PUBG Corp has stated the feature is going to be added mostly because of players' feedback.

While that may not be a concern in regions where PUBG is super popular, like here in the United States or in China, implementing a map selector could potentially increase matchmaking times in other regions that aren't quite so populated. Players do believe it is an enormous update and letting them choose their map is the fairest thing to do. PUBG Corp said the feature is almost complete, and it will come out soon after spending some time on the test server.

At this stage, a firm release date for the map selector on PC has not yet been made public but players can expect to see it make its initial appearance on the PUBG test servers before making its official public appearance.

"Work on the feature is nearly complete", PUBG Corp. says.

- You can select the maps you want to play with a click.

They opened up their latest update on Steam saying, "Map selection is something that players all over the world have continuously asked for". The plan is for players to be able to tick boxes on maps they are happy to play, and untick the ones they don't want to play. Right where you choose what mode you'll be playing, you'll also have the option of choosing where you want to play. Every triple-A publisher must be, and when the big gaming companies come in with better looking, more feature-full, and better optimized battle royale titles - many of them attached to established franchises - PUBG is in trouble.

If you're an Xbox One owner who has yet to check out PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, you now have a few days to do so.
