Consumers only have to add the new outdoor smart lights to their "Phillips Hue bridge" for easy app-based control. Just as with indoor Philips Hue lights, you can control your outdoor lighting in any way you wish, with the Philips Hue app or with your voice to create the flawless ambiance in any outside space.

Philips Hue is a popular smart home lighting system, so it was only a matter of time before the company extended to the outdoors. "The Philips Hue outdoor range enables you to make the most of your outside areas, be it creating the ideal ambiance to host a BBQ at the weekend or beautifying your garden". You can also use the app's Home & Away function to set up loction-based routines, so, for instance, your outdoor lights automatically switch on when you're about to arrive home.

Designed for illuminating outdoor paths, Philips Hue Calla comes in a base pack with one bollard and installation accessories [~US$130].

Philips Hue Calla a bollard created to be fitted in paths or driveways.

Presumably, we'll have more information on products availability at that point. The outdoor range will go on sale in the US and Europe starting this July.

Are you looking forward to bringing Hue lights to your yard?

Meanwhile, the Lily spotlight will retail for $279/€299, and the Calla bollard will go on sale for $139/€139. They will be available in Europe and the United States in July.
