He came onto the pitch near the end of the game after a PAOK Salonika goal was disallowed in the 89th minute.

All fixtures in the Greek Superleague have been suspended indefinitely after PAOK president Ivan Savvidis invaded the pitch with a gun during a match at the weekend.

Greece has faced an unusually volatile league championship this season, with traditionally dominant Olympiakos - which has failed to win the title only twice in the past 21 years - in third place, behind leader AEK and PAOK.

Images taken on the pitch showed Savvidis apparently carrying a gun in a holster during the chaos that followed, with players and officials eventually leaving the field.

What do you think of the incident?

Tobacco tycoon Savvidis, who bought PAOK in 2012, is one of Russia's wealthiest men. This prompted Savvidis to attempt to confront the ref with his gun at the ready, accompanied by bodyguards who at various points tried to hold him back.

As Euro News points out, that resulted in PAOK's owner, Ivan Savvidis, to storm the field strapped with a gun.

The first time he was wearing an overcoat, and AEK Athens officials claimed that Savvidis threatened a referee.

Savvidis, who appeared to usher his players off the pitch, confronted Kominis and was then led away by his security.

Greek media reported on Monday that the leftist government was seriously considering suspending Super League contests until judicial authorities had cleared up pending decisions on matches involving violence.

PAOK now sit third in the Greek Super League, which would qualify them for the Europa League if they maintained that position after the remaining six games.

Greece's deputy culture and sports minister Georgios Vassiliadis said the situation called for "bold decisions".

"We will not allow to anyone to derive us from our target even if we need to take tough decisions in communication with the UEFA".

The club was deducted three points - but managed to overturn the sanction on appeal - after Olympiakos Piraeus coach Oscar Garcia was hit by a roll of paper thrown from the stands at PAOK.
