  • Apple opens WWDC 2018 registration for June 4-8 in San Jose

Apple is hosting its 29th annual Worldwide Developers Conference from June 4 to June 8 in San Jose, California. Rumors have already begun circulating that Apple will announce a new MacBook at this year's event.

The conference, focused on developers, often brings an early peek at MacOS, iOS and other Apple announcements coming through the rest of the year.

Registration is now live on the site, costing a not insignificant $1,599 - the same price as the last couple of years. It's the second year in a row that Apple has used the facility; in previous years, the event had been staged in San Francisco. Starting March 23, registrants will be chosen at random by Apple to receive tickets.

For developers attending WWDC or following along at home or work, Apple offers its official WWDC app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, and 9to5Mac's Gui Rambo developers an unofficial WWDC app for Mac.

While iPhone and Mac may be the most focused-on platforms, that's not to say WWDC will concern itself exclusively with them. While not many details have been given surrounding the new software, we did hear a little while ago Apple plans to refine the experience of using iOS 12 while also offering cross-platform compatibility between iOS and macOS.
