Indian Mujahideen militant arrested.

Commenting on the arrest of the dreaded Indian Mujahideen, DCP (Special cell) PS Kushwaha confirmed the reports of the arrest of the terrorist.

Ariz Khan alias Junaid is said to be involved in five bomb blast cases and had been on the run since the Batla House encounter in September 2008.

During the encounter, cops shot down two Indian Mujahideen terrorists but also lost one of its men, Insp.

The Delhi Police arrested him on Wednesday, a day after he was nabbed on the India-Nepal border near Banbasa in Uttarakhand.

"He was involved in many bombing incidents", Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha said, according to ANI.

Junaid was one of the suspects present in the Batla House flat where, in a shootout, Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma was killed as the raiding team gunned down the alleged terror ring leader, Atif Ameen. His accomplice, Tauqueer, was arrested earlier by the Delhi Police in January this year.

Khan was born in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh and studied there at different schools.

Later, he came in touch with a Nepali resident Nizam and with his help crossed the Indo-Nepal border from Bihar into the Himalayan country, he said. "After living in Nepal for a few years, both left for Saudi Arabia", the police officer said. As a cover, he worked as a labourer. After the Batla House encounter, Khan kept shifting places for a month and headed to Nepal where he got hold of a Nepali citizenship card and passport in the name of Salim.

Khan was also a co-conspirator in the UP courts blasts matter where "he was enraged after some lawyers thrashed three terrorists of the Jaish-E-Mohammad". "For a cover, he worked as a labourer and also met with many sympathizers there", Kushwah said.
