Worst affected by the worst man-made humanitarian crisis of current times are the country's children.

"Eleven people were killed and dozens injured in the attack", medic Moaz Mahyub told Anadolu Agency.

They include 8.4 million people who are considered severely food insecure and at risk of starvation - a 24% increase since April 2017.

The latest aid package, which follows last week's $2-billion Saudi cash injection to Yemen's central bank, comes amid an ever-broadening crisis in the war-torn country, where the conflict, cholera and looming starvation have killed thousands and put millions of lives at risk.

Fighting between pro-government forces, which are backed by the coalition, and the rebel Houthi movement has also left more than 9,245 dead and 52,800 injured. Easing came in December, following a United Nations declaration that Yemen-where over 22 million require aid- is home to "the largest humanitarian crisis in the world". Three quarters of the population - 22.2 million people - need humanitarian assistance, including 11.3 million people in acute need who urgently require assistance to survive.

Such attacks against the Saudi forces come in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen's infrastructure by the coalition led by the Riyadh regime. However, it did not mention ending the restrictions on access to the rebel-held port of Hudaydah, which handles 70% of Yemen's imports.

The war's heavy toll on civilians has always been a sore point with members of Congress, triggering threats to block USA assistance to the coalition including refueling of jets and limited intelligence support.
