Minneapolis is hosting the NFL's championship game for the second time, the first having come in 1992 at the Hubert H. Humphrey Superdome, on the same site as the new home of the Minnesota Vikings. The vocalist, who was born Alecia Beth Moore, will sing the national anthem ahead of the February 4 title game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, the NFL announced Monday.

Monday's announcement comes almost three months after the National Football League confirmed Justin Timberlake is returning to headline the Super Bowl halftime show - 14 years after he infamously tore away a portion of Janet Jackson's top on the Super Bowl stage in an incident now referred to as "Nipplegate". Country star Luke Bryan performed the song prior to the game a year ago.

Pink is to perform the USA national anthem before the 2018 Super Bowl. Featuring singles "What About Us", "Revenge", and "Beautiful Trauma", the album was 2017's biggest debut for a female artist, according to Billboard. The show is now sold out.

Pink hinted at the gig on Twitter to fans, saying she was "really looking forward to 2018" and "some other stuff that's a secret still". P!nk now joins halftime performer Justin Timberlake as the confirmed list of performers at this year's event. The Super Bowl will be played two days later at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The pair repeated the same questions and answers a few times before an excited Jimmy asked: 'You're doing the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl?'
