  • Danica Patrick to drive for Premium Motorsports in Daytona 500

Patrick will bookend her Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career February 18, when she will drive the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet for Premium Motorsports at the Daytona 500, according to The Associated Press. The NASCAR Cup Series organization will utilize the charter held by the No. 15 entry to field the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet at Daytona. And thanks to the team buying Tommy Baldwin Racing, Danica has a guaranteed starting spot for the race and will have support from Richard Childress Racing.

"I couldn't have written a better story about how this would all fall into place", Patrick told the Associated Press. "Going with the flow is working out beautifully. It all makes my last NASCAR race just that much sweeter". With Eury on the pit box, Patrick achieved a career-best fourth-place Xfinity Series finish at Las Vegas, seven top-10 results and the pole for the 2012 Daytona Xfinity race.

Patrick competed in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series for the last five seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing. Having Tony Eury Jr. come on board for this race is good as well since he's worked with Danica before. She helped get me on this path to start helping kids with my company and I've had a lot of fun with it.

What challenges do you anticipate, if any? They've changed the format of Speedweeks a bit. She said, 'I'm going to go do this Daytona deal.

"Then I'm going back to Fury Racecars".

Here is what Patrick had to say about landing a ride with Premium Motorsports for the 60th annual running of the race this year, according to NASCAR. Having this be Danica's last NASCAR race will just make it more special. But now that will be where all of her focus goes, as Patrick has officially secured a ride in the Daytona 500. We have to have realistic expectations heading into Daytona, but Danica's learned a lot about speedway racing since we worked together, so it'll be fun to get back down there with her and GoDaddy. With over 17 million customers worldwide and almost 73 million domain names under management, GoDaddy is the place people come to name their idea, build a professional website, attract customers and manage their work.
