Sunni Waqf Board dismisses Sibal's plea in Ayodhya case

The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred the final hearing in the long-pending Ayodhya-Ram Janambhoomi case till February 8, 2018 after a specially constituted bench sat a day before the 25th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, reports said.
BJP president Amit Shah accused the Congress of adopting double standards saying Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is visiting temples but its senior leader Kapil Sibal is being used by the party to delay the Ayodhya case.
Modi questioned Sibal as to why is the Congress leader linking the Ram Mandir case with elections. He, however, noted that the Congress has said the views expressed by Sibal, who represents the Sunni Waqf Board in the case in the Supreme Court, were his own. Congress leader Anand Sharma said that Prime Minister was diverting the issue from lack of development in Gujarat.
