  • Rahul Gandhi LIVE: Congress vice-president files nomination for party's president's post

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday morning questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the safety, education and health of women in Gujarat.

Taking a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley said on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always been seen as a pro-Hindutva party, and suggested that now, other parties have been trying to replicate their political stance, media reports said. It was also a sly dig at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has been on a temple-visiting spree in Gujarat ahead of the assembly election later this month.

This was announced recently by Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala who said that Rahul would ask a question to the Prime Minister every day. Media had to ask Indiraji (late prime minister Indira Gandhi) before publishing something. I want to tell youngster Shehzad (Poonawalla) that he has done a courageous thing but this is sadly what has always happened in the Congress... "What tolerance is this!", ANI quoted PM Modi as saying.

"In Uttar Pradesh, where the Congress ruled for decades, the state from where generations of top Congress leaders belong.we saw what happened there in the local elections. I want to tell this youngster Shehzad, you have done a courageous thing but this is sadly what has always happened in the Congress", he added. "UP knows the Congress well and so does Gujarat", he said. Modi's rallies are centred on places where the BJP needs an extra push.
